Many children and young people feel scared and vulnerable in hospitals so providing hospital accommodation to parents allows children and young people to feel more supported and closer to home. Children can be in the hospital for a large amount of time, so it’s important to provide parents a place to stay and rest without having to worry about extra expenses.
While many children and families are from the local area, many come from all over Scotland to access the specialist care the hospital provides. Without nearby and free accommodation, many families would not be able to reach the crucial care they need. We allow children and families to have a more positive and improved experience of hospitals and healthcare.
Your impact donation is helping to achieve the below Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations.
We support over 100,000 children every year from all over Scotland by providing specialist care like spinal surgery, epilepsy surgery, neurology, plastic surgery and keyhole surgery. Through supporting families and setting up our Arts Programme, we have transformed the hospital experience for thousands of children. Hospitals can be scary places for children, so our work allows them to feel less scared and more supported and comfortable.
