The best way to support people facing hunger during the COVID-19 emergency is to make a financial donation to support our bulk food purchases and essential operations. As the need for emergency food assistance skyrockets, we need your help to continue buying the truckloads of food required to keep our warehouse stocked.
Every donated dollar allows us to provide food for four nutritious meals and more people than ever need our help to stay nourished during this crisis.
Food is a human right and no one deserves to go to bed at night feeling hungry. Nutritious meals are crucial for homeless people and low-income families to support their immune systems and give them the energy to go through the day. Packaged foods like ready meals, peanut butter and instant soup are an easy source of food for homeless people and low-income families.
Your impact donation is helping to achieve the below Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations.
Westside Food Bank is an independent non-profit corporation which provides food to social service agencies on the Westside of Los Angeles County. Our food often enables low-income people to stay in their homes, deterring the problem of homelessness, because it saves them from having to make the agonizing choice between paying for rent or food when they can’t afford both. Receiving our food also enables our 70 member-agencies to devote more of their own resources to other ways of helping clients achieve self respect and economic independence.
