Many elders do not have the privilege to spend their pension money on social activities. Social interaction is a human basic need that cannot be fulfilled for many elders and this leads to social isolation and loneliness. Social clubs and homes for elders can be a place for them to feel included and appreciated. The homes can offer security and peace of mind to the elderly and their families. Social gathering places can offer fun, friendship, and stimulation for older people who may be vulnerable to social isolation and loneliness.
Many elders regularly feel lonely. Due to the low-income status of many elders, they have to set priorities. Setting money aside for leisure activities can sometimes not be possible anymore. By not giving priority to their social life many elders fall into social isolation and once someone feels socially isolated the step to re-enter into social contact can already be too big. The aim of social clubs or homes for elders is to tackle social isolation through care with dignity and respect.

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people through our care homes, close care facilities and social clubs across the South of England and Wales. We offer support that is built on relationships and responds to the needs, aspirations, and choices of each individual. We have 10 care homes across the South of England, each with its own distinctive character and four housing with care developments, providing the independence and security of homeownership, together with access to many caring and communal facilities, giving peace of mind. Next to this we also facilitate social clubs across the South of England and Wales, they are intended as friendship and wellbeing clubs dedicated to providing older people with opportunities for social interaction and to meet new friends in a welcoming and supportive environment.
